  • Beskrivelse: Two hunters discover the grave of Krinio, who “was killed because she loved too much”. An old shepherd tells them her story. Many years ago, young Krinio, the daughter of the chief shepherd named Nikitas, grew up with Dimos, the son of her father’s faithful shepherd. The children grew up listening to stories and tales that Mrs. Marigo, Nikita’s sister, used to tell them - and they lived a carefree existence, as in a fairy tale. When the young woman left in order to study, Dimos was worried, but when she returned they realized that she was still in love with him. However, Nikitas objected to his daughter marrying a poor shepherd, and so he married her off to Thymios, a rich shepherd’s son from a nearby village. Krinio left her husband on her wedding night and ran away with her beloved. Her father, furious and insulted, went after his daughter and killed her.
